Video Tutorial: Stamp Carving!

Standard

The Frugal Crafter Blog

I love my store-bought stamps AND my digital stamps but sometimes I want to create my own image but still be able to get inky! I have drooled over the Stampmaker but Alas, it is not in my budget! So, what is a starving artist to do? Carve her own or course! It’s easy too, I carved the cameo I used on this card and paired it with a frame (Glitz) that I already had on hand:

Stamp carving is easy, quick and inexpensive. You can carve a simple stamp with an x-acto knife and an eraser or you can purchase an inexpensive stamp carving tool and some e-z cut rubber for more detailed designs. See how simple it is in this video:

Maybe someday I will have a Stampmaker but until then I have my stamp carving supplies! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

The Frugal Crafter Blog

Hi friends! I went looking for stamp carving tools in my studio last month and found all kinds of forgotten supplies, including some mosaic supplies. I decided to play with them. As you may know I am a contributor to Home & Garden for Mere Mortals and I thought a picture frame would be fun to make. You can see the full written tutorial here or watch the video below.

Video!

You can mosaic on almost any flat sturdy surface. Have fun with it and til next time happy crafting!

PS, I did find my stamp carving supplies, let me know in the comments if you are interested in any stamp carving tutorials.

Make this Interactive “Cage” Card! (Use what you have!)

Standard

The Frugal Crafter Blog

Hi Friends! I am still fighting this darn cold, the sinus pressure and headache is getting on my nerves, I did work in my studio a bit today but it is so hard to be inspired when you feel blah. I have been taking advantage of the fact I can’t get out of my own way to do a bit of binge watching on Netflix, I was thrilled to see that there were 2 seasons of Being Human that I had not seen. It is the US version and at first I was disappointed after seeing the UK version originally but now I am hooked, I mean with werewolves, vampires, ghosts and zombies what’s not to love? Well, enough of that nonsense, I do have a fun project for you and I bet you can make it with the supplies you already have!
