Kids Sewing – Ottobre Kids Design Magazine and New Look

saturday night stitch

Over the past year I have been doing a lot of sewing for my kids. They love choosing fabrics whenever they come fabric shopping with me. Unfortunately I don’t always have time to write the individual blog posts for them so I have collected all the pictures I could find of some of the kids clothes.

New Look 6423 – this is the second time I have made these. The fabric was bought from B&M Fabrics and it is a great quality that has stood the test of many washes whilst still maintaining brightness.

This is a set from Ottobre Kids design Magazine Summer 2016 Issue. The leggings are capri length which I thought was cute for summer. The fabric was also from B&M Fabrics in Leeds Market. They do great quality jerseys there.

This dress is the same pattern as the T shirt above from Ottobre Kids but I…

Chelly Wood

Please visit ChellyWood.com for FREE printable sewing patterns for dolls of many shapes and sizes. Image shows a FREE Printable Sewing Pattern for Barbie Quinceañera Dress. The watermark on this fashion doll sewing dress pattern (ball gown pattern or wedding dress pattern or quinceañera pattern) says "ChellyWood.com: free printable sewing patterns for dolls of many shapes and sizes." The pattern itself contains three different bodices, and each is marked with a difficulty scale in numbers of pink flowers (more flowers = a more difficult pattern; fewer flowers = an easier pattern to sew). As part of the pattern, a Mattel Made-to-Move Barbie doll is shown modeling the dresses that have been made by using this sewing pattern. Please visit ChellyWood.com for FREE printable sewing patterns for dolls of many shapes and sizes.

This week I’m posting free patterns and a tutorial for sewing a Barbie/fashion doll quinceañera dress. Of course, this pattern can also be used to make your fashion dolls a wedding gown, prom dress, or just a lovely long dress.

Yesterday I posted the skirt pattern, today I’m posting the re-designed bodice pattern, and tomorrow I’ll post a tutorial showing you how to sew the whole thing together.

So be sure and come back tomorrow to see what I’ve got planned next!

A Little Bookshelf On The Wall

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Sadly, I won’t be spending Valentines with Jack due to our long distance relationship, however I thought I’d share the lovely weekend we had together a few weeks ago, when I went to visit him in Aberystwyth.

Aber is a town in West Wales (UK) which is quite historical, has a beautiful beach front and a quaint yet modern town. It has a ruined castle, a harbour, and a variety of bars and clubs, one of which is on the pier.

After a coffee in Starbucks, we headed to the castle ruins, which gave us a perfect birds eye view of the town and Constitution Hill (which was unfortunately too wet to scale but we will definitely climb it next time!)

Despite the cold, the views I managed to capture are truly stunning, and I came back to Leeds feeling like I’d had a mini seaside break.
